The Foundries.io team members who attended the Embedded World 2022 exhibition and conference in Nuremberg were really glad to be there in person after two years of virtual meetings. Now that we've caught up on follow up actions with the many people we met with, we'd like to share our debrief with you. We look forward to ongoing discussions around what FoundriesFactory can do for you.

Stacey on IoT

Live Demos
The electric scooter from our friends at Unu motors attracted a lot of attention and was a great conversation starter. Unfortunately, poor cell phone reception in the exhibition center prevented us from demonstrating the scooter’s secure over-the-air update capability, but that didn’t stop our guests from appreciating the need for our FoundriesFactory Edge Platform-as-a-Service to implement this capability. The Tailos robotic vacuum cleaner made an appearance too, its entire Linux platform built by FoundriesFactory.
Arduino Pro Portenta X8 Winners
Every day at the show we gave away a Pro Portenta X8 kit generously donated by our partners Arduino. We were very impressed by both the quantity and quality of the entries, which made it difficult to select the following winners: • Sebastian Benkel of FW-Robotics (DE) • Naasa Fikri of Riscure (NL) • Ruben Sluiman of Ruiz (NL)
Panel Session in Hall 1
Our four panelists from Foundries.io, Arm, Arduino and NXP shared insights on the challenges of developing, managing and maintaining secure IoT & Edge devices. It was standing room only with all eyes on the panelists as they were asked a diverse set of questions. These included how initiatives like Arm’s Project Cassini and platforms like Arduino’s Pro Portenta X8 board are addressing these challenges, and what a chip vendor like NXP is doing to give device makers the hardware Root of Trust, that is the basis of all IoT security.
