This month's Foundries.io news has a heavy focus on next week's Embedded World Exhibition & Conference. There you will be able to join us in person at our booth in Exhibit Hall 4, stand 4-139, and also see FoundriesFactory™ in several of our partners' booths. There will be opportunities to attend our conference presentations, or attend a free panel where we will be joined by several key partners. Anyone visiting the Foundries.io booth or attending our panel session will be able to enter a competition, sponsored by Arduino, to win one of three Arduino Pro Portenta X8 kits.
Beyond Embedded World, scroll down for other news, including a great experiential research paper describing how platforms like FoundriesFactory and the Arduino Pro Portenta X8 are finally bringing the era of plug-and-play to IoT applications. We end with Junko Yoshida talking to our chairman, Ian Drew, about the three companies that resulted from him writing his own obituary!

First complete Edge Platform-as-a-Service for IoT
Bill Curtis and Patrick Moorhead of Moor Insights & Strategy published an in depth research paper based on Bill’s experience with FoundriesFactory. Bill describes how the FoundriesFactory EPaaS (Embedded Platform-as-a-Service) and the new Arduino Pro Portenta X8 board are ushering in the start of the IoT plug-and-play era. Access the paper.
Best Practices for Managing IoT Systems Securely
Join us at the forthcoming Embedded Technologies Expo & Conference, June 27-29 in San Jose, CA, where on June 28 at 2:05pm PDT, our CEO George Grey is part of a panel with Kate Stewart of The Linux Foundation, James Odeyinka of Walgreens, and Benjamin Cabé of Microsoft, discussing, "Best Practices for Managing IoT Systems Securely."
If you cannot make it in person to San Jose, or simply cannot wait to learn more, George gives a preview for Fierce Electronics.
On IoT and Life After Arm
Ian Drew, our Chairman and co-founder, explains to Junko Yoshida how after leaving Arm, he wrote his own obituary as if he had died at the age of 83. This clarified the goals he had yet to fulfill. He now runs three businesses: Foundries.io, LifeScore Music and AtlanticSuperConnection. Free registration available to unlock the story.
